This story began in Barack's 20s. His words were so descriptive that I could vividly feel the bleak atmosphere where he’d lived in New York. He expressed himself that his disposition was impatient because he was busy with work and has unrealized plans, and prone to see other people as unnecessary distractions. This part seemed to me that his twenties was not much different from other young people in the world.

He experienced two deaths - his father’s and neighbor’s. The death of his neighbor affected him. He wished that he had learned the old man’s name. His emotional portrayal of his neighbor’s death reveals his sympathy for the marginalized and the poor who die alone in a barren room. His father’s death also remained a myth to him, both more and less than a man. He lived in Hawaii during his childhood. He was only two years old when he learned about his father through some episodes that his mother and grandparents told. I wonder how his childhood in various countries affected his life. -P.7, August 2, 2021.
